our most frequently asked questions

what makes candy claws stronger than other press ons?

We use a custom-made mould that is thicker than the moulds used by our competitors. The thickness makes the press ons super durable! We also add a UV top coat finish to make them harder to chip.

We also spent months working to create the strongest nail glue ever so that your press ons won’t budge!

That being said, our glue softens when soaked in warm, oily water - allowing you to remove them damage free! (we recommend wearing rubber gloves for washing up - showering is fine!)

do i need to buy glue/adhesive tabs separately?

every set of nails comes with its own tube of glue and 1x adhesive tabs.

we offer brush-on glue as an add-on as some customers find the brush a faster & easier way to apply the nails.

the adhesive tabs 10pk can be purchased if you wish to reuse your nails multiple times for special events/weekends (10pk = 10 wears)

what is included in each box?

24-30 nails in 12-15 different sizes, 1x adhesive tabs set, glue tube, alcohol wipe, cuticle stick & nail file

i have very small/very large nail beds. will candy claws fit my nails?

we take pride in having a larger range of nail sizes than most of our competitors, with 12-15 size options in each set.

if you do have any issue finding a nail that fits perfectly, simply select a bigger size and file it down for a few seconds to get the right fit.

please note that our limited edition lola nails do run smaller in sizing. the largest size is the same as the second largest size in other sets.

are candy claws damage-free?

Our adhesive tabs do not damage the nails. They are super soft and ball up like putty during removal.

Most customers say that the tabs last them until a little over a week of wear - but they are then super easy to replace with a new tab so that you can keep wearing the nails (just make sure you get the adhesive tabs 10pk with your order if you want to take this route, as there is only one set of tabs included with each set of nails).

The glue is non-damaging IF the nails are removed correctly. They need to be soaked in warm, oily water until the nails fall off on their own as to avoid peeling them off. Remove any residue glue by LIGHTLY buffing it off with the included nail file.

We also strongly recommend using the adhesive tabs instead of the glue for less than 1 week of desired wear-time and applying our cuticle oil to your nails after each wear to maintain moisture.

how to apply/remove?

1. Prep is very important to ensure there isn’t any natural oil residue left on your nails that could interfere with the adhesive.

Ensure that your hands are completely dry before applying (if you have just washed up or showered, wait at least 1 hour).

Use the nail file to lightly buff off the shiny surface of your natural nails. Use the alcohol pad to remove any remaining oils and nail dust (you can also use rubbing alcohol on a cotton pad).

You can then use the cuticle stick to push back your cuticles (this is optional but will make the press-ons look more natural).

2. Find the same two perfectly fitting nails for each finger. We have a large range of sizes to reduce the need for customising, but if you cannot find a press-on that perfectly fits your nail bed, choose a larger size and file it down to fit.

The press-on should fit snugly on your nail bed & not touch the skin. There are sizes on the back of each nail so that you can select the same nail for the opposite hand.

3. For the glue, apply a dot onto your natural nail and spread it around. Do the same on the press-on. Wait for the glue to become tacky (15-20 seconds) before applying the nail at a 45 degree angle (from the cuticle-down) and press/hold firmly down.

Use your opposite thumb to do firm swiping motions all over the nail as to remove any air bubbles. Waiting for the glue to become tacky helps with hold and allows you to avoid overflow while also using enough glue for a strong hold.

For the adhesive tabs, select a tab for each finger that covers the entirety of the nail surface. Use the flat side of the cuticle stick to do firm swiping motions all over the tab to ensure it is stuck firmly onto the nail.

Use tweezers to peel off the protective film and apply each nail at a 45 degree angle (from the cuticle-down) and press/hold down firmly on each nail.

4. Lightly file any rough tips & avoid water for at least 1 hour after application

How to remove:

If you have used nail glue, wait at least 7 days before attempting to remove your nails. Ideally, the nails will be beginning to lift on their own before you begin the removal process.

Soak your hands in warm water mixed with soap and any type of oil. Apply the soap and oil directly to your nails and massage it into the cracks to speed up the process.

Once your nails begin to lift, use the cuticle stick to make gentle rocking motions underneath the edges of the nails to assist them in popping off.
